This was back when the USSR was a real threat and we all partied under the very real threat of maybe next day we died. An F4? Are you on freaking social security? There is still one squadron in the navy operating them they pretend to be MIGs in training. Also our poorer allies bought a few and retrofitted them.
While I never saw anyone get sucked up, i did see a few chopping up incidents one a help another arresting cable snap. |

Playing COD is exactly what most servicemen do for the majority of their time when deployed to places like Camp Udairi, Kuwait....Anaconda....Liberty, Al Kut. Pretty much one long, hot, overpaid year of xbox. Not being sarcastic in the least bit. I'm serious.
Hell in Pensicola all the guys on the floor got all the old xbox, 6 tvs and we all played halo. It sorta replaced the lan party guys that normally took the place every weekened. |

And back then a B-52 was semi new. Did my training there at Chanute and worked on those B-52's. Learned that striking a nuclear warhead will not cause it to explode. No, was not me that hit a nuke with a hammer, and the looney chick that did it is probably still in Leavenworth. I remember one Tech Sargent that we called Bam, Bam since all equipment was "fixed" by ample use of a hammer and then a request for new equipment since the equipment sent for service was "no longer serviceable" AKA beat to total kitten. Last I heard Crazy Cathys get sent to the Naval Consolidated Brig in San Diego since AFAIK just the guys get sent to The Castle. Leavenworth? you mean The Castle. Oh yeah Richard Marcinko got sent there a year for that Red Cell kittencluster.
I had a guy submit parts he did this too. I started to refuse him parts and gave it to more deserving squadrons. He then quickly understood parts don't grow on trees. |
